Members of National Security Intelligence (NSI) and customs detectives arrested a passenger along with 1kg gold, three mobiles, and two laptops at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport on Sunday (June 4).

The detainee was identified as Abdul Karim Sajan, a resident of Feni's Parshuram area.

According to the NSI, Sajan arrived in Chittagong at around 8:10am on Fly Dubai's FZ-563 flight, and the recovered gold and commodities were smuggled illegally from Dubai.

The total weight of the recovered gold is 963 grams, estimated to be worth Tk82,32,433 on the market, added NSI source.
