Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police submitted a charge sheet accusing 33 people in former Motijheel Thana AL general secretary Zahidul Islam Tipu and college girl Samia Afran Preeti murder case.

DB police inspector Yasin Shikder, also the case investigation officer, submitted the charge sheet to the branch concerned of CMM court on Monday (June 5). 

Later, June 15 was fixed for next hearing on the case.

According to information, in the list of 33 people, Dhaka South Awami League organising secretary Ashraf Talukder also included.

During the investigation, police found allegation against 34 people to be true. But, as the full identity of one Excel Sohel was not found, a petition for his acquittal has been filed. In this situation, chargesheet against 33 have been submitted.

DB police inspector Yasin Shikder, also the case investigation officer confirmed the matter.

On March 24, 2022, both Tipu and Preeti were killed in indiscriminate firing at Shahjahanpur in the capital.
