Five people suffered burn injuries in a fire that originated from a gas line leakage in the Wari area in the capital on early Wednesday (June 7). 

The injured were identified as Helal, 40, Sohel, 35, Anarul, 21, Sumon, 24 and Rashid, 65. 

The all were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Dinmoni Sharma, deputy director (Dhaka division) of Fire Service confirmed the matter. 

On information, fire firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire around 5:30 am, he added. 

The fire originated around 2:25am when a group of workers was repairing a gas pipeline.
