A madrasa teacher committed suicide jumping under a moving train as he was allegedly defamed of molesting a student in Bogura.

The incident happened near rail station at Chatiya village of Bogura's Adomkhani on Thursday (June 8).

The deceased identified as Harunur Rashid, son of Ali Shekh, hailed from Rajapur village at Naogaon's Raninagar Upazila. The deceased was an assistant teacher of Amin Dakhil Madrasa.

According to locals, Harunur was standing near the rail line with a water glass in his hand suddenly he jumped when a train was crossing Chatiyan village rail station.

Harunur's son Hasibul said, "A group was conspiring against my late father. That group falsely alleged that my father sexually harassed a madrasa student. Later, madrasa management dismissed him."

However, "My father was mentally disturbed after the false allegation, we think out of this disturbance he committed suicide," Hasibul added. 

Santahar railway police station officer in charge Mokter Hosen confirmed the matter.

He said body has been sent to morgue after recovering from the incident scene. 

A suicidal case has been registered in this regard, the official added.
