Serajul Alam Khan's janaza held at Baitul Mukarram

The first namaz-e-janaza of Serajul Alam Khan, one of the greatest organizers of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, was held at Baitul Mukarram on Saturday morning.

The janaza was held around 10 am.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganasanghati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, and JSD leader Abdur Rob among leaders and activists from various political parties attended in janaza.

The body of Serajul Alam Khan will be taken to his ancestral home in Noakhali's Begumganj upazila where he will be buried next to the grave of his mother at his family graveyard there after a third namaz-e-janaza.

Serajul Alam Khan, Jasad founder, died on Friday afternoon while undergoing treatment at DMCH. He was 82.

Serajul was born on January 6, 1941.

He was a founding member of Swadhin Bangla Biplobi Parishad alias Nucleus. He founded and led Mujib Bahini (also known as BLF) with Tofael Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, and Abdur Razzaq.
