BAGERHAT: Three people were killed and three other injured when a vegetable-laden truck plunge into roadside ditch near to Chaukhali bridge on Khula-Bagerhat highway early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mostafa Sheikh, 45, son of Hakim Sheikh of Bowlpur area, Saidur Rahman, 48 of Hoglapasha area in Morelganj upazila, and Hanif Sheikh, 30, of Piroajpur.

Bagerhat highway thana Sub-Inspector Suvash Chandra Das told banglanews, “A Bagerhat-bound truck fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering at around 4:00am, leaving three dead on the spot and injured others.”

The injured were admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital.
