Dhaka airport 3rd terminal workers protest for due wages

The workers of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's third terminal alleged that the project executing company Samsung Construction and Trading has not been paying their wages for three months.

The construction workers on Monday (June 12) blocked fuel supply routes and fuel transportation at the airport pretesting the matter. 

While talking to Banglanews correspondent, the protesters said despite giving assurance of paying their wages several times, the officials concerned failed to pay.

According to workers, the company has thrown them out after seizing their identity cards. However, till Monday afternoon the company officials reassured the construction workers regarding clearance of their salaries, unfortunately, they failed to pay again. 

They blocked the fuel supply route and transportation of fuel to the airport as part of their ongoing protest, the workers also said.

Banglanews correspondent got no response from Civil Aviation Authority's chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman and the airport Executive Director Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam in this regard, after trying to reach them over the phone several times.
