Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man with 11 gold bars in Chuadanga on Saturday (June 24).

Chuadanga-6 BGB arrested Torukul Islam, 32, from Sultanpur border of Darshana area at 10:30 am.  

Director of Chuadanga-6 BGB Lieutenant Colonel Syed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said based on intelligence Torikul was arrested from Sultanpur Border. 

"11 small gold bars weighing 816 grams wrapped with white scotch tape and 1 mobile phone were recovered from him. The market value of the recovered gold is Tk 70 lakh," he said.

A case has been lodged against the arrestee with Dorshona police station, he added.
