Two persons including a police constable were killed as a microbus hit them in front of Padma Uttar police station in Munshiganj on Sunday (June 25).

Besides, at least three people were injured in the accident that took place around 9:45 am.

One of the deceased was identified as constable Md Motaleb Miah, 32, posted at Mawa Traffic Point.

According to police and locals, the Shariatpur-bound microbus from Gazipur's Tongi ran over five people after a tyre of the vehicle got punctured.

The injured were taken to a local hospital where constable Motaleb succumbed to his injuries.

The bodies were sent to the Munshinganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The microbus was seized but its driver managed to flee, police said.
