Independent candidate Ashraful Hossain alias Hero Alam allocated with 'Ektara' symbol in Dhaka-17 by-election.

Returning Officer Md Munir Hossain Khan officially allotted the symbols to the candidates at the Election Training Institute (ETI) on Monday (June 26).

Meanwhile, six other candidates backed by political parties got the symbols of their respective parties.

"I urged for Ektara symbol and got that, so I have no complaints. Finally, I am waiting for a fair election," said Alam.

Dhaka-17 by-election will be held on July 17.
