Bashundhara Group in Cox’s Bazar distributes Eid clothes among destitute 

Bashundhara Group has distributed clothes among the poor in Cox’s Bazar ahead of the Eid-ul Azha.

As Eid gifts from Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, some 2000 distressed women received sharees in Khurushkul union of the beach town on Tuesday, said a press release.

The recipients expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman and prayed for the prosperity of the leading industrial conglomerate in the country.
Cox’s Bazar sadar upazila parishad chairman Kaisarul Haque Jewel, Yahya Group chairman Mohammad Yahya , Khurushkul union parishad chairman Shahjahan Siddique were present at the programme held on the premises of Khurushkul High school.

Beneficiary women recalled the food support of Bashundhara Group during the Covid-19 pandemic. That time, the company distributed rice, lentil, oil, potato, onion and other items for the survival of the low-income groups in different parts of the country. 

A woman namely Chemon Nahar Begum from Monopara said she couldn’t manage new clothes in this Eid as the price is very high.

“I never think about new clothes in this Eid. Bashundhara Group makes me surprised with the new sharee. I always pray for the Bashundhara Group,” she said.

Jyoti Rani Dey from Sampan Ghat area expressed gratitude to the Bashundhara Group for distributing new clothes to all irrespective of religion and customs.

Upazila Parishad chairman Kaisarul Haque Jewel said Bashundhara Group had distributed essential food items among the destitute during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“They stand by people in this Eid too. Bashundhara Group has distributed new sharees through searching out the distressed people. I appreciate Bashundhara Group for their move and hope the effort will continue in the future,” he said.

Khurushkul union parishad chairman Shahjahan Siddique said Bashundhara Group Chairman has been working selflessly for the well-being of the distressed people.

“On behalf of the people of this union, I convey gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for his noble deed,” he said.

Bashundhara Group provided cash support worth Tk 6 million to 12,500 families in Shahpori Island who survived the severe cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’. The industrial conglomerate continued support for the distressed people in Cox’s Bazar providing financial assistance and foods.
