New record was made in terms of collection of toll in the Padma Bridge. Some Tk 4 crore 61 lakh 34 thousand 70 was collected as toll on Tuesday.

The authorities concerned informed that this is the highest collection of toll as of now. During this time, some 43 thousand137 vehicles crossed the bridge.

Confirming the news, Padma Bridge site office additional director Amirul Islam Chowdhury said some 43 thousand 137 vehicles crossed the Padma bridge from the both ends in the last 24 hour and the toll was collected from those vehicles. In the Mawa end, some Tk 2 core 70 lakh 400 has been collected while some Tk 1 crore 91 lakh 34 thousand 300 has been realised from the Jazira end.

Earlier, some Tk 4 crore 19 lakh 39thousand 650 was collected as toll from the Padma bridge.
