Two persons were killed in a road accident at Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Friday (June 30) morning.

The deceased were identified as Abul Bashar, 60, a resident of Phulgachi upazila in Feni district, and Al Mizan, 40, a resident of Dania area in Dhaka.

According to police, a private car was going to Rangpur from Dhaka in the morning. On the way, a Dhaka-bound passenger bus ran over the car in Panthapara near Gobindganj town at around 7 am.

Two persons of the private car died on the spot.

Later, Gobindganj Fire Service personnel recovered the bodies and handed those over to Gobindganj Highway Police Station.

Gobindganj Police Station officer-in-charge Aminul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The car and bus has been seized and brought to police station, he said, adding necessary steps will be taken in this regard.
