Bodies of five fishermen were recovered three days after their trawler capsized in Meghna River on Friday (June 30).
The deceased are Haroon, Sharif, Sattar, Noor Islam and Fazle Karim. Their home is in Charmadraj village of upazila.
Two fishermen still remain unaccounted for, and a search is underway to locate them.
The bodies were recovered around 1pm from the Bay of Bengal today.
According to local fish trader Maruf Hossain Minar, on June 27, 13 fishermen had gone out to fish in the Bay of Bengal with a trawler. After that six fishermen were rescued and seven were missing.
Charfashion Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Al Noman confirmed the matter.
The families of each of the fishermen killed will be given Tk 50 thousand. Besides, efforts are being made to rescue the missing fishermen.
