Four persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in stabbing police constable Moniruzzaman Talukdar to death in the city’s Farmgate area early Saturday.

Tejgaon division DB police members nabbed them conducting raids in the capital at different times on Saturday.

Deputy police commissioner Md Golam Sabur confirmed the matter on Sunday.

He said that one of them confessed to his involvement in the incident.

Police were working to arrest the other members of the gang, he added.

Md Moniruzzaman Talukdar, 45, was working as a constable at Tejgaon Traffic Division. He hailed from Sherpur district.

A group of muggers stabbed him indiscriminately at Sejan Point premises at Indira Road, leaving him critically injured early Saturday.

Moniruzzaman was taken to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where an on-duty doctor declared him dead.
