The operating hours of Dhaka metro rail are being extended by half an hour during night time, effective from Saturday (July 8).
The new schedule was announced on the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) website on Tuesday (July 4) in a notification signed by Road Transport and Highways Department Deputy Secretary Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman.
Two trains will start their journey from Agargaon station and will stop at each station to reach Uttara North metro station at 8:15pm and 8:30pm, respectively, according to the notification.
Single-trip tickets cannot be used on these two trains, it added.
Earlier on December 29, 2022, the country's first metro rail opened for general passengers after a day of its inauguration.
