A woman and her eight-year-old son were allegedly beaten to death in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla district on Wednesday (July 5).

The deceased were identified as Nipa Akter, 26, wife of Anwar Hossain, a Bangladeshi working in Dubai, and Ali Ahsan Muzahid, 8, their son.

Shubho Ranjan Chakma, officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station confirmed the matter.

He said Nipa and her child were killed by Anwar's nephew over a land dispute.

Police are trying to arrest the attackers, said the OC.
