CHITTAGONG: An army person was killed in a road accident in Battola area under Bayzid Bostami thana in the port city on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Afsarul Alam, 50, a member of military intelligence.

Sources said that a speedy truck knocked him at around 08:30am while he was going to his work station by motorbike, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.

CMCH police out post Sub-Inspector Pankaj Barua confirmed the matter to banglanews.
