SYLHET: An auto rickshaw driver, who was injured as his vehicle overturned after being chased by pickets, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Soeb Ahmed, son of Safiq Mia, hailed from Telikhali village of Silam Union of the district.

Earlier, a CNG-run auto rickshaw turned turtle after being chased by Chhatra Dal activists on Thursday noon, leaving the driver critically injured.

Later, passersby rushed him to Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died at around 10:00am Friday.

Moghla Bazar Thana Officer-in-Charge Ranjon Samanto told banglanews, “A case was filed in this connection.”
