A Cumilla court on Tuesday (July 11) sentenced three brothers to death for killing their father over a land dispute in 2013.

Third Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Rozina Khan passed the order fining each convict to Tk 20,000.

The death row convicts are Fayez Ullah, Ohid Ullah and Shahid Ullah of Kandi village in Monohorganj upazila. 

According to the case documents, the convicts beat his father Abdul Karim to death on August 26, 2013, as he had not registered land in their names.

Abdul Karim's second wife Mosammat Safia Khatun filed a murder case against eight people including the three sons after that incident.

Court Inspector Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter today.
