US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya and US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu visited a Rohingya camp today (July 12 to observe the situation.
Officials of UNHCR, IMO and RRRC, district administration and law enforcement agencies welcomed the delegation members.
The ten members delegation includes Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia Anjali Kaur and others.
During visiting the camp, the delegation team will survey at Rohingya refugee camps one, nine, 11, 18, one east and specialised hospital in Ukhiya.
They will also survey activities of international aid agencies and exchange views with officials of UNHCR and RRRC. Later the delegation will leave the place in the evening.
The delegation team arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday evening three days after visiting Delhi, India.
The delegation will leave Dhaka on July 14.
