Two including a 12-year-old girl were killed and nine others injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a sand-laden truck in Dinajpur on Tuesday (July 18).

The incident happened around 4 am in Charhat area of Nababganj upazila on Dinajpur-Gobindoganj highway.

The deceased were identified as Jannat Ara, and the truck driver Akram Hossain, 35. 

Nababganj police station officer in charge (OC) Towhidul Islam Towhid confirmed the matter.

He said a Dinajpur bound bus named 'Ma Paribahan' collided head-on with a Gobindoganj bound sand laden truck in Charhat area, leaving two dead on the spot and nine injured.

Later, the injured were admitted to the hospital, he said, adding the vehicles were recovered from the accident spot.
