A rickshaw driver and a fire service worker were killed in a collision between a bus and a private car with a fire service vehicle in Chashara of Narayanganj.

In this incident, several others are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

The accident took place in front of Chashara Central Shaheed Minar on Monday (July 24).

Of the deceased one identified as Jahangir Hossain, 50, a driver of Hajiganj Fire Station. 

According to eyewitnesses, the fire vehicle lost control of its steering and skidded into the side lane. At the same time, a bus and a private car collided. 

In this incident, several rickshaws and cars in the vicinity were also damaged, locals said.

Narayanganj Fire Service Deputy Director Fakhruddin confirmed the matter.

He said a fire service unit was sent after receiving information of a fire incident. On the way, an accident occurred, killing one of our employees and a civilian.

Ten firefighting units doused the blaze in its one hour frantic effort, he said.
