The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan zone arrested five more persons for their alleged involvement in attacking Ashraful Alom (Hero Alom) during Dhaka-17 by-polls.

The arrestees are - Md. Saiful Islam Sajal, Humayun Kabir aka Prince, Md. Shab Mia, Shoaib Molla and Bayezid Molla.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Intelligence Gulshan Division Hafiz Al Asad confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday (July 24) afternoon.

Earlier, on Sunday, they were arrested during raids that were conducted in different areas of the capital, he said.

Police have arrested 15 people in this case so far, the officer added.

On July 18, Alom's personal assistant Sujan Rahman Suvo accusing 15-20 unidentified people filed a case with capital's Banani Police Station regarding attack on Hero Alom during Dhaka-17 by polls.
