Ashraful Hossain Alam, popularly known as Hero Alom, last night (July 24) filed a general diary (GD) with Hatirjheel Police Station after he allegedly received a death threat over the phone.
Hero Alom, a contestant of the recently concluded Dhaka-17 by-election, said he received the threat around 10:30 pm.
Talking to journalists in front of the police station, Hero Alom said the caller threatened him for taking steps against the attackers.
“The caller said he will teach me a lesson within seven days," said Hero Alom.
Hatirjheel Police Station SI Abdul Quadir said the GD was filled around 11:30pm.
On election day, Hero Alam was attacked during the voting of Dhaka-17 by-polls by ruling party activists.
Later, he filed a case with the Banani Police Station accusing at least 20 unnamed persons for the attack. On July 22, the case was later transferred to DB.
