Railway minister Md. Nurul Islam on Tuesday (July 25) said rail services on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route will resume on August 1.
He also said that construction on the Narayanganj double-line project work will resume soon.
The minister came up with the development while inspecting the work of the Dhaka-Narayanganj double line project at Chashara railway station in Narayanganj today.
Earlier, on December 4 last year, the railways announced the suspension of train movement on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route for an indefinite period.
Besides, the minister said Dhaka-Bhanga rail services via Padma Bridge will be inaugurated this October as the trial lane from Kamalapur to Bhanga is currently being constructed.
Within September and October, train services from Chittagong's Dohazari to Cox's Bazar will be inaugurated, Nurul Islam added.
