A nine-month pregnant woman died of dengue at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur on Wednesday (July 27).

The deceased was identified as Ruma Bishwas, 26, wife of Liton Ghosh. She hailed from Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari.

Liton Ghosh said his wife tested dengue positive at a private clinic in Rajbari on Sunday (July 23). Then she was admitted to Rajbari Sadar Hospital. As condition deteriorated, Ruma was referred to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital on Wednesday afternoon where she died in evening.

Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Deepak Kumar confirmed the matter.
