Voting in the election to Chattogram-10 constituency by-elections began on Sunday (July 30).
Voting started at 8am and will continue till 4pm through Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) at 156 centers.
CC cameras have been set up at all centres for monitoring the voting.
Chattogram Regional Electoral Officer Mohammad Hasanuzzaman told Banglanews that law enforcement forces including mobile and striking forces have been assigned.
Besides, In general centres, 16 to 17 policemen and Ansars are on duty, while important centres have 17 to 18 police-Ansars on duty to ensure a smooth voting process and security during the by-election.
Earlier, after death of Dr. Afsarul Amin Chattogram-10 constituency fell vacant.
Six candidates are competing for the Chattogram-10 parliamentary seat, while the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has chosen not to participate in the by-election.
