Three persons were killed and four others injured in a collision between a local human hauler 'votvoti' and an auto-rickshaw at Mohanpur upazila in Rajshahi district on Wednesday (August 2).

The accident took place in Bakshail area on the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway around 12:30 pm.

The deceased are Ajibur Rahman, 35, Jahangir Alam, 45, a resident of Mohanpur village, and Abul Hossain, 55, of Sankoa village under Mohanpur upazilafrom Bagmara upazila in the district.

Mohanpur Police Station sub-inspector Sakhawat Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said a Rajshahi-bound votvoti collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw when a man was crossing the road by a bicycle, leaving three persons dead and four others injured.  

Police are looking into it, he said.
