Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9am today (August 2).
According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka,Tangail, Faridpur, Kishoregonj, Manikgonj, Chuadanga and Kushtia and it may abate, it added.
However, the day temperature may fall by (2-3)o C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 38.2 degrees Celsius at Bogura, while today's minimum temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kutubdia.
The highest rainfall was recorded 107 millimeters (mm) in Teknaf in the last 24 hours till 6am today.
