The leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) severely beat up the President of Gono Odhikar Parishad and former VP of Dhaka University Central Student Union Nurul Haque Nur and his associates.

The incident took place at the Dhaka University Student Teacher Center (TSC) on Wednesday (August 2) around 4:30 pm. 

However, the number of injured in this incident could not be confirmed.

According to sources, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad called upon a protest rally at Raju Memorial Sculpture of Dhaka University around 4 pm to protest against the attack and harassment on the opposition political party, harassment of public and students, the killing of madrasa student Hafez Rezaul and the detention of BUET students.

Dhaka Medical Hospital Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Bachchu Mia confirming the matter said some 10 people of Gono Odhikar Parishad were injured in this incident.
