A doctor was killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a microbus on the Bhola-Charfashion regional highway in Baklai intersection area under Lalmohan upazila of the district today (August 3). 

The deceased was identified as Hillol Dey, 30, son of Kajal Chandra, resident of Malaypattan village under Borhanuddin upazila of the district. He was a medical officer at Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex.

Lalmohan Police Station officer-in-charge Md Mahabubur Rahman confirmed the matter. 

Police seized the microbus but its driver escaped, Mahabubur Rahman said.

Locals said when Hillol was going to the Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex, a Bhola-bound microbus coming from the opposite direction, hit his motorbike around 11:30am, leaving him seriously injured.

Locals took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem.
