DHAKA:  A state witness of the case against Jamaat leader Delwar Husain Sayedee, who was attacked by miscreants, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Mostafa Hawlader, 55, of Zianagar upazila of Pirojpur district.

Deceased’s wife Hasina Begum told banglanews, “Two youths stormed into their house at around 2:00am Sunday and hit on my husband’s head with chopper, leaving him injured critically.

He was admitted to 250-seated Sadar Hospital and later, shifted to DMCH.

But he breathed his last 2:30am Tuesday while underwent treatment at intensive care unit of the hospital.
