Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9am today (August 11).
According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at many places over Dhaka, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at places over the country, Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecasted for next 24 hours commencing from 9am today.
It said day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36 degree Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna division while today's minimum temperature 24.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Bandarban district.
It said the highest rainfall was recorded 76mm at Dimla in Rangpur division in the last 24 hours till 6am today.
The sun sets at 6:36pm today and rises at 5:32am tomorrow in the capital.
