An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted Dhaka on Monday (August 14) night.

The earthquake was felt at 8.50 pm.

The epicentre of the quake was Karimganj of India's Assam region and the origin of earthquake was 10.0km deep, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Fortunately, no casualties or damage to properties have been reported
