Police on Tuesday (August 22) have arrested an accused over Cox's Bazar Awami League leader Saif Uddin murder.
The arrestee Ashraful Islam was held from Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter 1:30am.
He said police were able to identify the accused from the hotel's CCTV footage and detected his location with the help of technology. Later, a team arrested him from Teknaf during an overnight drive.
Asharful confessed that he killed Saif Uddin on Sunday evening after Magrib prayer.
Saif Uddin, 45, was found dead inside a room of Hotel Sunmoon in Cox's Bazar city on Monday morning withhis hands and legs tied with rope.
