The chamber judge of the Supreme Court today (August 23) issued a status quo until January 8, 2024, on a High Court (HC) order asking for a probe into the allegations against the owner of S Alam Group of transferring huge money abroad without permission of the Bangladesh Bank.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim of Chamber Bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court passed the order on Wednesday (August 23).
The stay order came following a leave to appeal petition filed by Mohammad Saiful Alam, owner of S Alam Group, and his wife Farzana Parveen.
The Chamber Judge also sent the matter to the full bench of the Appellate Division to be heard on January 8.
