Dinajpur Municipality Mayor Syed Jahangir Alam soughed unconditional apology before Supreme Court for making indecent comments about an Appellate Division judge over BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's verdict.

The mayor appeared before the five-member bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique this morning and soughed apology during a hearing.

However, the court had set October 12 for the next hearing in this regard, also SC ordered Jahangir to appear before it at 9am on that day.

The Appellate Division on August 17 summoned the mayor and asked him to appear before the court on August 24 for making derogatory remarks against a judge.

The court also asked the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove the video containing the mayor's remarks from the internet.
