A man and his 7-year-old daughter were killed in a mudslide in Sholoshahar area of Chittagong early Sunday (August 27), following a heavy overnight downpour.

The deceased Md Sohel, 35, and his daughter Bibi Jannat were residents of Sholoshahar area.

Nur Alam Ashiq, in-charge of Chittagong Medical College Hospital police outpost confirmed the matter. 

The four people sustained injuries in the landslide, while two of them were declared dead by physicians, he added. 

Deputy Assistant Director Abdullah Harun Pasha of Bayezid Fire Service Station said being informed, they rescued four people from the spot and sent them to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
