A motorcycle rider died in a bike accident on Postogola Bridge in the capital early Saturday (September 2).

The driver lost control of the motorcycle and the victim, Farhadul Islam Shihab, 23, was hit by a bus after he fell off the bike.

Md Saiful Islam, sub-inspector of Shyampur Police Station confirmed the matter. 

The accident happened around 1:30am and during the fall; Shihab was hit by a passing bus, he added. 

Saurav, 23, who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the accident, was also injured.

Later, both friends were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency unit by police.

At the hospital, medical personnel declared Shihab dead.

Shihab's body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy, while Saurav was taken to his residence in Jatrabari after primary medical treatment, said Saiful Islam.
