DHAKA: Two persons were killed as a covered van crushed into a slum in West Kamarpara area at capital’s Uttara early Friday.

One of the deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 57.

Sources said that an Uttara-bound covered van rammed a road-side shanty when its driver lost control over steering, leaving two sleeping persons dead on the spot.

Sub-Inspector of Uttara West Thana Sumon Chandra Mazumder confirmed the matter to banglanews and said that the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
