PIROJPUR: A youth was killed in a clash between opposition BNP and ruling Awami League men at Ghosherhat bazaar of Pattashi Union under Zianagar Upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shukur Ali Hawladar, 25.

Locals said that BNP-led 18-party alliance activists brought out a procession and vandalized some shops at around 2:30am.

At one stage, they locked into clash with local Awami League activists, leaving the man critically injured.

Later, the victim was rushed to Upazila health complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Jamaat-BNP both claimed that Shukur Ali was their activist.
