US Deputy Assist Secy Mira Resnick in Dhaka to join Security Talks

US State Department's Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs Mira Resnick arrived in Dhaka Monday (September 4) to attend the US, Bangladesh security dialogue slated for Tuesday.

The US delegation will discuss regional developments, human rights, security assistance, and counterterrorism, the US embassy said on X, formally Twitter, while welcoming her in Dhaka.

"The United States and Bangladesh share a vision of a free, open, and peaceful Indo-Pacific region. Welcome to @StateDeptPM Pol-Mil Affairs Deputy Assistant Secretary Mira Resnick, who arrived in Dhaka for the U.S.-Bangladesh Bilateral Security Dialogue."

“Security dialogue is a civilian-led discussion that touches on all elements of our security relationship,” the US embassy said earlier.

The security dialogue is an annual, civilian-led discussion that touches on all elements of the security relationship between the two countries.

Representatives from both sides will discuss Indo-Pacific regional issues, security and human rights, military cooperation, peacekeeping, security assistance, and counterterrorism, among other topics, said the United States embassy in Dhaka in a media note on Sunday.

The United States and Bangladesh have a strong security partnership and share many interests in the Indo-Pacific region, said the embassy.
