Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave over all the eight districts may become less intense at some places, in the next 24 hours commencing 9am today (Sept 4).
According to the Met office bulletin, the mild heat wave is sweeping over Sylhet division and the districts of Mymensingh, Bogura, Naogaon, Rangpur, Dinajpur & Nilphamari and it may abate from some places.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi & Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, the bulletin added.
However, as an extended outlook for the next 72 hours the bulletin also predicted that a low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay.
"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi & Mymensingh divisions," it added.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur, while today's minimum temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Kutubdia and Bandarban.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 34 mm at Dhaka.
