The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Tuesday (September 05) arrested 48 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement issued today.

They seized 5,443 pieces of Yaba tablets, 5.15kg of hemp, 23gm of heroin, and 10 injectable drugs from their possessions, says the statement. 

Besides, 36 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act, it added.
