Some miscreants allegedly abducted a Dhaka University (DU) student in Sajek of Baghaichari upazila in Rangamati on Wednesday (September 6).

The student Dipita Chakma, 25, is daughter of Shitendra Bikash Chakma, a resident of Khagrachari sadar, and a student of masters in the Department of Public Administration of DU.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sajek police station Nurul Haque confirmed the matter.

He said Dipita, was travelling to Sajek with her friends from Khagrachhari. There a group of unidentified armed miscreants intercepted their vehicle on Dighinala-Sajek road in Sergeant Kamal Chattar area of Shijokchara at around 1pm and abducted her. 

He said a rescue operation is underway in connection with the incident, he added
