Emmanuel Macron, the first French president to visit Bangladesh in 33 years, on Monday (September 11) paid deep homage to the memories of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the city this morning.
He also signed the visitors' book after making a tour inside the Museum.
Macron arrived in Dhaka last night on a two-day visit.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received Macron at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on his arrival from New Delhi around 8:30pm.
The French president is scheduled to leave Dhaka at 2pm today. Foreign Minister Momen will see him off at the airport.
