State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the statement of Jamalpur DC Imran Ahmed who allegedly sought people's vote for the ruling Awami League in the next election while addressing a programme, will be scrutinized.
The minister was talking to journalists at the secretariat in the capital today (September 12).
The state minister said a DC cannot say such things ahead of the general elections as they are sent to the field with various types of training and instruction.
Earlier, Jamalpur DC in the programme held today reportedly said the incumbent government of Awami League has to be brought to power again in the next parliamentary elections to continue the development spree.
DC Imran was addressing the programme organized to inaugurate the newly constructed building of Madarganj pourashava in Jamalpur this afternoon.
However, after DC’s statement, the State Minister said “It will be checked if someone has distorted Imran’s statement. Now in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), speech can be twisted. After looking into DC's full speech, action will be taken.”
Meanwhile, DC Imran’s speech went viral on social media.
