DHAKA: Karmojibi Nari, a platform of the working women, Thursday demanded of the government to enact strict and effective law and ensures its enforcement to eradicate the eve-teasing menace that caused at least 15 girls to commit suicide as the last resort to get out of the hell in recent times.

The demand came a day after a schoolgirl killed herself in Jhenidah--the latest in a row of stalking tragedies.

The government, however, says it would pursue ‘zero’ tolerance and would make new law, if necessary, for curbing the new tide of crime.

Karmojibi Nari activists formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club Thursday, as part of an ongoing wave of protests against the teasing of teens. They also brought out a procession as part of their demonstrations.
