Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered over 5 kg of crystal methamphetamine in a drive in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Monday (September 18).

Col Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, commandant of the BGB-2 (Teknaf) confirmed the matter today.

He said tipped off, a team of BGB-2 intercepted a boat in which two smugglers from Myanmar were heading towards Mirza Jor area on Sunday night .

The smugglers, however, jumped into the Naf river and managed to escape, he said.

Later, the BGB men recovered 5.2 kg of crystal meth from the boat, he added.
